The medical and practical aspects of AD have been discussed in many books. To find the most appropriate and useful titles for you, it is often a good idea to visit the local bookshop or library and browse through the titles. Books on AD will be located in the medical or health section and include large medical text books, as well as smaller practical guides aimed at helping carers and families of those with AD. A few initial reading suggestions are listed below.

In addition to these books, many of the Alzheimer associations listed on the previous pages have their own series of leaflets and fact sheets designed to explain and help with specific aspects of life with AD. This information is usually free and can be obtained via the organisation’s website, or through a request by phone or email.
